Kurt Vile had returned with his first new music in three years, as the slacker-rock hero has shared new single “Loading Zones,” along with an accompanying video that features a couple of notable cameos.

Vile showcases his signature laid-back vocals, airy guitar picking and and stream-of-consciousness lyrics on the track, as he sings about moving from loading zone to loading zone in his hometown, while the similarly themed video (directed by Drew Saracco) follows the musician as he drives around avoiding policemen—played by actor Kevin Corrigan and Vile’s fellow Pennsylvanian and Pissed Jeans frontman Matt Korvette—as they attempt to give him parking tickets. Watch below.

Vile’s last solo musical output was 2015’s b’lieve i’m goin down…, and he also released a collaborative album with Courtney Barnett, Lotta Sea Lice, in 2017. Vile will head back on tour with his band The Violators this fall with a number of European dates scheduled for October and November before the collective returns to North America in late November and December. See their schedule below.
