Reid Genauer, Derek Trucks, Mickey Hart Perform with Phil & Friends

Reid Genauer took the stage with Phil & Friends last night at Jones Beach Amphitheater in Wantagh, NY. Genauer added guitar and vocals to Friend of the Devil midway through the show. Earlier this month, Lesh watched Reids acoustic performance at the Gathering of the Vibes and was so moved that he invited him on his tour bus to discuss the set.

Mickey Hart also sat in with the band last night during Liberty -> Road Runner -> Not Fade Away at the beginning of the show. Hart also joined the group Saturday at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA and Lesh emerged during Bembe Orishas opening set.
Friday at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ, guitarist Derek Trucks performed with Phil & Friends for the entire second set.
The band plays tonight at the Scranton Cultural Center in Scranton, PA.

Mike Gordon Sits in with Vida Blue

Bassist Mike Gordon joined Vida Blue Saturday at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. Gordon played bass (and regular bassist Oteil Burbridge left the stage) during Cars, Trucks, Buses, which closed the set. He returned for the encore to play guitar on Light Up or Leave Me Alone.

Page McConnell sat in with Robert Randolph and the Family Band Thursday at Bimbos in San Francisco. McConnell performed on I Don’t Know What You Come To Do.

Vida Blue plays tonight and tomorrow at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO.

Al Schnier Jams with Strangefolk During Late Night Set

moe. guitarist Al Schnier joined Strangefolk during its late night set at the moe. or Les festival Friday at Marvin’s Mountaintop in Masontown, WV. The set kicked off around 2:30 a.m. and ended just after 5:30 a.m as the band played Til the Morning Comes. Schnier sat in for Cumberland Blues and Water. Als psyched to play with anyone at anytime, says Strangefolk bassist Erik Glockler. I just came out of the studio with him recording for the[Al & the] Transamericans album. The record also features moe.s Vinnie Amico (drums), Gordon Stone (banjo) and Freebeerandchickens Kirk Juhas (keyboards). A release date has not yet been set.

Strangefolk plays tonight at the Atlantic Connection on Marthas Vineyard in Massachusetts.

Ben Harper, Liza Oxnard Collaborate with String Cheese Incident

Ben Harper and Liza Oxnard performed with String Cheese Incident Saturday at Deer Creek Music Center in Noblesville, IN. Harper (guitar and vocals) and Oxnard (vocals) emerged at the end of the first set for Steal My Kisses. Liza then left the stage and Ben remained for Voodoo Child, which closed the set. Innocent Criminals percussionist Leon Mobley also joined the band.
Both Oxnard and Mobley also sat in with String Cheese Friday at Alpine Valley in East Troy, WI.

String Cheese plays tomorrow at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in Darien, NY.
