Composer and saxophonist John Zorn will say goodbye to the original location of his New York venue The Stone during a stretch of shows this winter. As previously reported, The Stone will move from its longtime location on Avenue C to the New School’s campus between 5th and 6th Avenue on 13th street. Zorn has hosted shows at the New School on weekends since June. Zorn’s final improv nights will take place between February 20-25, featuring a mix of the venue’s staple performers. Guests already slated to host residences at The Stone’s new location include: Julian Lage (8/14-18), Bill Frisell (8/21-25), John Medeski (10/6-10), Jon Madof (11/6-10) and Marc Ribot (11/13-17).
