Once again a year has come and gone too quickly and, once again, we are left with twelve months of music to sort through. For the second year in a row, we asked a number of our favorite musicians, managers and industry gurus to talk about their favorite albums, bands and performances. Look for a new set each week in December (be sure to take a look at Set One, if you havent done so yet).

*_What will you remember most about 2006? _*
The election. I thought that this country was going to hell in a bucket, but America seems to be pulling out of its tailspin. Its going to take a lot more work, but at least people are tired of being lied to and thats a huge step in the right direction.

*_Who will be the band to see in 2007? _*
Thats gonna be a rough one for me, but I think RatDogs gonna do real well in 2007.

*_What was your favorite show in 2006? _*
For us, its probably up around 100 shows. I cant really remember.

*_What album comes up most often in your iTunes (or CD player)? _*
I dont listen to albums. I have what used to be the fat one, now they have an 80 GB iPod, and its nearly full. I just keep it on shuffle and listen to what comes up. Theres a lot of classical music on it, a lot of jazz music on it, but not a whole lot of pop music.

A few I have not stopped listening to: the Essential T-Bone Burnett album, Abigail Washburn, and the new moe. album, The Conch.
NOAH CHERNIN (SAM CHAMPION)
_What will you remember most about 2006? _
How far out of touch I became with modern music. Rediscovering the Beatles is such a joy. It far outweights keeping up. I think it also helps creative types keep more creative. You gotta go where you gotta go and stay off Stereogum.com!
_Who will be the band to see in 2007? _
Sam Champion.
_What was your favorite show in 2006? _
The Comas at Pianos. Late night show, free party. All the hits.
_What album comes up most often in your iTunes? _
Harry Nilsson’s Son Of Schmilsson.
*ANDY BERNSTEIN (HEADCOUNT, PHARMERS ALMANAC) *
_What will you remember most about 2006? _
Getting HeadCount going again really defined the year for me personally. I was very proud of the team we assembled and what we accomplished. Hopefully, it’s a next step toward something bigger in the future. The fact that congress changed hands on fewer than 5,000 votes really validates the importance of what we do.

_Who will be the band to see in 2007? _
Toubab Krewe. Nothing like watching a band on the rise. They’re the quintessential buzz band right now.
_What was your favorite show of 2006? _
David Gilmour at Radio City. When the lasers came on during ‘Echoes’ I think I made some involuntary noises. Blew away the Roger Waters show at MSG a few months later.

SUPER DEE (JAMBASE)
_What will you remember most about 2006? _
2006 is the year that we Americans waited for the other shoe to drop whether it be from our feisty Mother Nature or from the people that hate us from abroad. While nasty conflicts continue in the Middle East, folks here at home stood in line for three days for video games. We lost Syd Barrett and gained Suri Cruise. Our government has seemingly turned blue for the time being, which works for me!

I got married this year and so did two other members of Addison Groove Project, as well as our manager and tour manager. Big wedding season.
_Who will be the band to see in 2007? _
I’m really not sure on this one. Seems like the Greyboy Allstars are back touring and are releasing a new album. I’d recommend seeing them if you haven’t, before. AGP will be doing a series 10th Anniversary shows this spring, and with lead singer/guitarist Brendan McGinn getting neck-deep in med school, it might be the last time to see us play for a long time.
_What was your favorite show in 2006? _
Radiohead at Bonnaroo – I had been wanting to see them live for an extremely long time, but it hadn’t worked out until this summer. I got the chills and I really like their new songs. Although I have to say that the Greenhaus birthday gig on the Rocks Off boat that I did as a duo with drummer Conor Elmes and special guest Josh Baron is a close second. 😉

ETHAN SCHWARTZ (LANGERADO)
_What will you remember most about 2006? _
I should say something important here to make myself sound smarter than I really am, like the Democrats taking control of the House and Senate or something like that. But the most memorable thing to me was the 2nd night 2nd set of Camp Bisco. Being with
my wife and a great group of friends in the Catskills Mountains during the House Dog sandwich just reminded me how much I love that band and going to see live music, in general.
_Who will be the band to see in 2007? _
I am just blown away by Explosions in the Sky every time I listen to them. I’ll be in the middle of something and they come on and I just have to stop everything I am doing. They are dangerous to listen to when you are driving.
_What was your favorite show in 2006? _
The Secret Machines at Langerado. Just a complete rock and roll show from beginning to end – amazing lights, incredible sounds… the whole package. A close second would be Guns N’ Roses. Who besides Axl Rose has the balls to not even go onstage at an arena until 11:30 at night? Oh, and the 4th season of the Wire. The best show ever on television. Prove me wrong.
_What album comes up most often in your iTunes? _
The Beatles – Abbey Road, Neutral Milk Hotel – In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, Grandaddy – Sumday, Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks – Pig Lib, David Cross – Shup Up, You Fucking Baby
