The Grateful Dead has announced the release of a 12-CD box set, titled So Many Roads 1965-1973. The compilation, due out October 16, will feature digitally re-mastered studio albums in addition to unreleased bonus tracks. ‘Each release has been re-mastered and filled up to the outer groove, Grateful Dead publicist Dennis McNally told Jambands.com. ‘The only one we didn’t let them touch was Live Dead. Why mess with perfection?’ McNally is currently working on a double-CD, titled The Birth of The Dead, which consists of studio recordings prior to the band’s signing with Warner Brothers. It will also be included in the box set.
Grateful Dead Productions has released Dicks Picks Volume Twenty-Two. The two-disc set features material recorded on February 23 and 24, 1968 at Kings Beach Bowl, a bowling alley, in Lake Tahoe, CA. The album is available by mail order only. For more information, visit www.dead.net or call 800-CAL-DEAD.

In September, GDP will release View From The Vault II, a video of The Deads performance at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC on June 14, 1991. An audio-only CD will also be available.
