The famous backstage couch from New York’s Wetlands Preserve will be installed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame today. The couch will be featured in the Hall’s special backstage display between a chair from New York’s Fillmore East and a urinal from Vermont’s Club Toast. ‘We’ve all experienced such amazing nights at Wetlands, but the true magic of the club came from the couch,’ says former Wetlands Owner Pete Shapiro. ‘It just created such a special vibe for our artists and that was always a high priority for us.’ A Hall of Fame archivist adds, Ultimately we hope to identify each of the stains and detail the specifics in a commemorative program. Were still waiting on the DNA testing.
Fans visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will need a special wristband to gain access to the backstage display, although if they tell security they’re ‘with the band’ they should be all set.
