Guitarist Brian Stoltz and drummer Russell Batiste of The Funky Meters joined fellow New Orleans-based outfit Bonerama Friday at Tobacco Road in New York City. Stoltz and Batiste emerged for a portion of the set, which consisted of extended instrumental funk excursions. Bonerama is led by four trombonists, including Mark Mullins, whose extensive resume includes work with Harry Connick Jr., George Porter Jr. & the Runnin Pardners, Tori Amos and Better Than Ezra, among others.
Bonerama plays a free show this Wednesday at the Louisiana Music Factory in New Orleans. For the complete schedule, visit www.bonerama.net.
