Bassist Chris Dahlgren will reunite with Jazz Mandolin Project for the groups upcoming fall tour, which will also feature Jamie Masefield on Mandolin, Dan Weiss on drums and Mike Mad Dog Mavridoglou on trumpet and keyboards. Dahlgren joined the band in 1998 for the Tour de Flux and continued touring through 2000. He recently received his Masters in Composition and Experimental Music from Wesleyan University and also premiered an orchestral piece with the Janeczek Philharmonic in the Czech Republic. JMPs tour runs through mid-October, when Dahlgren plans to move to Germany. The full itinerary can be found at www.jazzmandolinproject.com.

In other news, Masefield sat in with Rusted Root Sunday at Hartwood Acres in Saxonburg, PA. Jamie took the stage during Cruel Sun. (Incidentally, the skies opened up during this song, which includes the line, ‘Let it rain and protect us from this cruel sun.’)
