Strangers Helping Strangers, an organization founded to give back to those communities where the band Strangefolk performs will continue its efforts in November and December even through Folk has not scheduled any gigs. SHS will collect non-perishable food at 4 upcoming shows for donation to local charities:

Friday, November 28th: Jiggle, Harpers Ferry in Allston, MA
Saturday, November 29 Max Creek & Reid Genauer & AOD, Lupos in Providence, RI
Friday, December 5th Spookie Daly Pride, Tammany Hall in Worcester, MA
Saturday, December 27th Jiggle & a440, Tammany Hall in Worcester, MA
Incidentally, yesterday in our new Elsewhere section, we called attention to Melissa Mansfield’s piece- ‘Bands, fans give back to places they visit on tour,’ explaining ‘Waterwheel, SCI & Panic Fans For Food are feted in this article.’ For brevity’s sake we failed to list all of the organizations in our headline- okay to be specific, Strangers Helping Strangers, but they are also featured in the piece (and rightly so, they do fine work).
