Dancing room was tight in the 3,700 capacity Chicago Auditorium Theater last night for the first of String Cheese Incident’s three shows culminating in the bands extended New Years Eve performance. Most ticketholders made it inside for Leo Kottkes opening set despite the fact that some tickets were printed with incorrect start times (as for this evening, doors are at 6PM with the show at 7, while on the 31st doors are at 7PM with the show at 8). Many concertgoers anticipated an opportunity to see Kottke perform with String Cheese Incident guitarist Bill Nershi which happened during the outset of the second set, with Michael Kang joining in as well. The entire SCI performance as well as the next two are now available as part of the bands new Live Downloads service.
