Yesterday during the middle shows of their three night holiday runs, String Cheese Incident and Govt Mule invited their openers onto the stage. In Chicago, the members of Garaj Mahal joined String Cheese for Lonesome Fiddle Blues. Meanwhile at New York’s Beacon Theater (or likely earlier due to the vagaries of time zones) Maceo Parker added sax to the three songs that closed the first set, including Low Spark of High Heeled Boys and Sco-Mule. Also at the Beacon, DBB guitarist Fuzz, who did not open for the Mule but is always eager to join in the action (plus three of his bandmates did sit in the prior night) appeared for the It Hurts Me Too encore.
