In a move which surely sent the online message boards into a frenzy, Trey Parker and Matt Stone poked fun at the jamband scene on last nights episode of _South Park _. The second episode of the Comedy Central series ninth season, Die Hippie, Die brings a hippie, jam festival to the town of South Park, CO. Perhaps a sign that festival season has reached the national radar, the episode revolves around South Parks efforts to disperse a Bonnaroo-like gathering, which slowly swallows the small town. A band which look and sound remarkably like Phish, but instead are dubbed Fish, perform at the fictional festival, which is augmented with live-action concert footage. And while Jon Fishman is seen wearing the Viking hat he sported on occasion in 1998, the Vermont-quartet apparently left vocal duties to Parker, Stone and company. While we wont offer anymore episode spoilers, we will give you this bit of Phantasy Tour approved-trivia: apparently Cartman shares Trey Anastasios love of Slayer.

Speaking of Phish, today Anastasio revealed the lineup for his new backing band: keyboardist Ray Paczkowski, bassist Peter Chwazik, keyboardist Les Hall and drummer Skeeto Valdez. Anastasio will debut his new project, and a handful of new songs, at South Burlington, VTs Higher Ground on April 1. Fans eager to hear a little bit more about Anastasios new project should venture over to Relix.com or Anastasios online home .
