Max Creek hosted its twentieth Camp Creek Festival this weekend at Mariaville, NYs Indian Lookout Country Club. Saturday evening the group opened its performance with an acoustic set which featured an appearance by Strangefolks Luke Patchen, who added vocals to Deep Elem Blues. A night later, Creek was forced to cut its set short due to heavy downpours but returned to finish out its performance. Longtime band associate Jeff Pevar joined in on percussion for a version of Blood Red Roses which segued into a children chorus sung by members of the Creek family. The children remained onstage for a version of Willow Tree, while Pevar added lap steel to a set closing version of Heard it in a Love Song.
