Following the birth of vocalist Jen Durkins second child, the Bomb Squad has taken some time off the road. This weekend, however, the Squad will regroup for a surprise gig (or perhaps better yet, since we’re sharing the info here, a heretofore unannounced gig’)in scenic Narragansett, Rhode Island. The band will appear on Saturday at the Wheelhouse Tavern and Music Hall for a show that will mark the release of its new DVD Rip It Up. Looking ahead, the only other confirmed Bomb Squad date is on May 18 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City as part of the Sounding off for a Cure event in conjunction with Voices Against Brain Cancer. However, the group has indicated that additional spring tour dates are in the offing and will be announced soon.
