It is more than forty years since the release of Whipped Cream & Other Delights by Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass. The album, which offered twelve songs with food in the title (as well as cover art featuring a fetching woman covered in whipped cream or some facsimile thereof), topped the pop charts for eight weeks in 1965. These songs have been remixed for a new disc by a host of performers, including: Medeski Martin & Wood, Thievery Corporation, John King, Mocean Worker and Ozomatli. Alpert himself delivers new trumpet solos on a variety of the tracks included on Whipped Cream & Other Delights Rewhipped, which hits today.
