Last night, Trey Anastasio returned to Mansfield, MA’s Tweeter Center for the second time this summer as part of G.R.A.B.‘s co-headlining tour with Phil Lesh and Friends. As he often has this summer, Anastasio joined the former Grateful Dead bassist for his entire second set, performing on such classic cuts as ‘All Along the Watchtower,’ ‘St. Stephen,’ ‘Help On the Way,’ ‘Slipknot!,’ ‘I Know You Rider,’ and ‘Franklin’s Tower,’ among others. During Lesh’s first set, Mike Gordon also emerged to play electric banjo on ‘Brown Eyed Women’ and ‘Next Time You See Me.’

In related news, on Wednesday Page McConnell made a rare public appearance at an old Phish hang. During the New Mastersound’s performance at Burlington, VT’s Nectars, McConnell and longtime Phish collaborator Dave Grippo Dave Grippo took the stage for a portion of the English funk collective’s set. As previously reported, McConnell is currently working on a solo album and will perform at moe.down with Jon Fishman, Adam Zimmon, Jared Slomoff and Rob O’ Dea.
