On Saturday Galactic crammed into New Orleans Maple Leaf for an extremely intimate undercover show. As expected, the group marked its first show at the tiny venue since 1998 with a handful of surprises, including veteran television personality Paul Shaffer.

After a brief comedy introduction, Shaffer took the stage for most of Galactics first set, which included Jamabalaya, Walking to New Orleans, Big Chief, Hey Pocky Way, Cissy Strut, and House of the Rising Sun, among others. Galactic then used Little Old Money Maker as exit music as Shaffer left the stage. Throughout Galactics set a number of other guests appeared, including veteran New Orleans saxophonist Donald Harrison, vocalist Bo Dollis, guitarist Jonathan Freilich, drummer Willie Green and a number of vocalists (who helped interpret material from the groups forthcoming hip-hop album). Galactic will perform at Austins La Zona Rosa on December 28.
