Umphreys McGee opened its west coast tour Friday with the aid of a special guest. While performing at San Franciscos Fillmore Auditorium the sextet invited out its old friend, and fellow SCI Fidelity label mate, Keller Williams for a version of Partyin’ Peeps which also included a bit of The Lion Sleeps Tonight. Williams was in town sharing a bill with Michael Franti and Spearhead at San Franciscos The Warfield Theatre and ventured over to the Fillmore after his set.

A few nights later Umphreys McGee shared the stage with SCI Fidelity companions Tea Leaf Green. The San Francisco-bred quartet opened for Umphreys McGee at Reno, NVs Grand Sierra Theatre and then shared guitarist Josh Clark and keyboardist Trevor Garrod with the evening’s headliner. The pair appeared on a cover of Huey Lewis Power to Love and Clark returned during the groups encore for Fool In the Rain. Earlier in the set Frame of Minds Josh Scott also played harmonica on Women and Wine Song.
