The Mahavishnu Project will celebrate the release of its new album, Return To The Emerald Beyond, with a performance at New Yorks Makor during the Green Apple Music and Arts Festival. The gig will feature a rare area appearance by the full 11-piece band (including strings, voice and a horn section ) that recorded the disc and will include a complete rendition of the Mahavishnu Orchestra’s 1974’s classic, _ Visions of the Emerald Beyond_. The show will also feature Smile of the Beyond and selections from the Mahavishnu Orchestra’s Inner Mounting Flame and Birds of Fire. After the groups US tour, The Mahavishnu Project will travel overseas for shows in Europe and Asia. As previously reported, the second annual Green Apple Music and Arts Festival will take place simultaneously in New York, San Francisco and Chicago from April 20-22.
