In February, Galactic cancelled a handful of east coast dates after keyboardist Rich Vogel fell ill. Now that Vogel has recovered, the group is making good on its promise. After retuning from Jam in the Dam, the group kicked off its east coast makeup tour with a sold-out show last night at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club. As had been planned for the group’s original run, Papa Mali opened the show and joined the group for ‘Bottle Up and Go,’ ‘Jump into the Fire,’ ‘I’m a Ram,’ and ‘Guilded Splinters.’ Fellow New Orleans combo Bonerama also sat in on ‘Baker’s Dozen,’ which closed the group’s second set. Galactic will perform at Providence, RI’s Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel tonight.
