Though his time with the String Cheese Incident will soon come to a close, Bill Nershi remains as busy as ever. In addition to his work with Honkytonk Homeslice, Nershi has recently appeared with a number of the bands routing through his Colorado homestate. On Friday fellow SCI Fidelity recording artist Railroad Earth performed at Boulder, COs Fox Theatre with The Duhks. During the latter portion of the groups second set, Nershi played guitar on a number of songs, including Big Sciota, Long Way To Go, Black Bear, Reuben’s Train, and Little Rabbit. On Railroad Earths final two songs Vince Herman also added guitar and vocals. Both Nershi and Herman later returned to help Railroad Earth close its set with a version of Up on the Hill.

A night later, while performing at Denvers Gothic Theater, . During the groups second set Panjea trumpeter, and frequent String Cheese Incident/Guster collaborator, Dan Sears appeared on Hunting Song.
Sears, who returned for Brothers and Sisters during the groups encore, has a long history with the members of Railroad Earth. Well over a decade ago he jammed with Tim Carbone, Carey Harmon, and John Skehan as part of the Bobby Syvarth Combo at Stroudsburg PAs The Sarah Street Bar and Grill. His work with the jazz combo is featured on the live album Alive at Sarah Street.
