After meeting on the 1996 traveling H.O.R.D.E. tour, Blues Traveler drummer Brendan Hill co-founded Seattles Stolen Ogre with keyboard player Michael McMorrow. Eventually Hills Traveler duties led him to stop his regular appearances with the group, although he appears Stolen Ogres first full length release, Road to Jericho. Over a decade into its career, Stolen Ogre has recruited another member of Blues Traveler to appear on its next recording. Blues Traveler frontman, and Seattle resident, John Popper appears on the new Stolen Ogre number ‘Tequila Mockingbird,’ which was recorded at Seattles Robert Lang Studios earlier this year.

‘It really is a classic Popper performance and we couldn’t be happier,’ McMorrow says. ‘I had this idea of what I would like to hear on the track; John comes strolling in a day before driving to Austin to record with Blues Traveler and just nailed it. It was what I had been hearing in my head except a thousand times better.’
The track, along with other new numbers like House of Candy’ and ‘So We Danced,’ will be included on the Tequila Mockingbird EP, which is available through a variety of digital stores. JamOff winners Stolen Ogre are also working on their next full length studio album.
