Omnipresent New York concert promoter Jake Szufnarowski put together a supergroup or two in his day as the Wetlands talent buyer and, more recently, with his own company Rocks Off. Perhaps most notably, for his birthday in 2003, Szufnarowski created Bustle In Your Hedgerow, an all-star instrumental Led Zeppelin cover band which now features Scott Metzger, Weens Dave Dreiwitz and the Benevento/Russo Duo. After a busy year, which saw Bustle In Your Hedgerow play in four different time zones, the quartet will once again celebrate Szufnarowskis birthday with a performance aboard New Yorks Rocks Off Boat Cruise tomorrow. The late night cruise will depart at 11 PM aboard the Temptress.

Recently, Szufnarowski has also focused his energies on the all-star tribute band Tragedy, which covers the music of the Bee Gees. The group features Satanicide/Hair Supply/Children of the Unicons Phil Costello, Moi?s Royce Peterson and Szufnarowski, himself, playing the part of the Gibb Brothers, backed by a live band that includes keyboardist accordion-ace Corn Mo. The group, which bills itself as The Tri-State Area’s #1 Metal Tribute to the Bee Gees will open for Beatallica at New Yorks Highline Ballroom this Sunday. Tragedy will also support Generals & Majors at New Yorks Bowery Ballroom on September 7, Umphreys McGee at the Nokia Theater on October 20 and Murphys Law at the Blender Theater on October 26.
