The Lake Trout offshoot Big in Japan, which focuses on the groups former jungle leanings, has spent the better part of the year on the road as the rhythm section for UNKLE. However, the trio will play two Baltimore gigs as Big in Japan before the end of the year at the Mosaic Lounge (12/12) and Sonar (12/31). The members of Big in Japan have also been recording, working on a new project called Riot Trail and plan to release an album in 2008. Meanwhile, Lake Trout guitarist Ed Harris has been playing in the indie-rock group Red Headed Temper, while singer/guitarist Woody Ranere has spent time in the studio writing for television and producing new albums for both the Benzos and Red Headed Temper. The five musicians will come together for a few Lake Trout gigs later this month, beginning with a show at Philadelphias The North Star Bar on December 13.
