A number of popular New Orleans musicians have contributed to the progressive childrens CD Funky Kidz. Produced by Lauren Busch Singer, a mother and music fan, the compilation also features production work by Grammy winner Tracey Freeman, best known for his work on over a dozen Harry Connick Jr. albums, and Steve Alaimo, co-writer and producer of the Allman Brothers ‘Melissa. The discs choice cuts include Boneramas take on Youve Got A Friend In Me, Big Sams Funky Nations cover of the Hokey Pokey, Ivan Nevilles Dumpstaphunk version of Zip A Dee Doo Dah, George Porter Jr.s reworking of Hes Got the Whole World In His Hands and Papa Grows Funks childrens version of the Beatles Yellow Submarine. The compilation also features Theresa Andersson, The Radiators, Walter Wolfman Washington and Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes, among others. A number of the abovementioned musicians are expected to perform behind the new disc in 2008.
