New Orleans-based Papa Grows Funk will bring its Crescent City vibe to the east coast for a series of gigs at the year’s end. The run begins on Thursday, December 27th upstairs at Philadelphia’s World Cafe Live (the band notes, ‘With the Greyboy Allstars playing earlier and downstairs, there’s a good chance we will get a few of our Grey friends to come up and jam.’). From there the group will travel to Baltimore for a performance marking the 10th anniversary of Mother’s Federal Hill Grille. Then it’s on to Maxwell’s in Hoboken and Brooklyn’s Southpaw before the band welcomes the new year in Baltimore with the Bridge at the Museum of Industry.

This Friday, Papa Grows Funk will perform its last show of 2007 in its native NoLa at Tipitina’s Uptown with special guest Anders Osborne.
