Particle spent New Years week in California and Colorado playing a series of shows with guest guitarist Brian Jordan. On December 29 the quartet also recruited the help of longtime friend, and Doors guitarist, Robbie Krieger. Krieger and singer Adam Iscove took the stage a few songs into Particles set for a mix of Doors covers, Particle originals and even a Grateful Dead number, including LA Woman, Peace Frog, Riders On The Storm, The Other One, Triple Threat, Break On Through To The Other Side, Ed + Molly and The End. At the end of the night, both Krieger and Iscove returned to help Particle close its encore with Light My Fire. A night later, Particle traveled to Colorado for two performances at Denvers Cervantes. RJD2 supplied support duties on night one and offered a seamless full band segue into Particles headlining set. A bit later in the evening, both bassist Rob Wasserman and trumpeter Willie Waldman sat in with the group on Ife and 7th Gear.

Particles New Years Eve performances featured even more asterisks: a five set, guest heavy affair that stretched until 5 AM. At the start of the groups second set, engineer Kevin Rudnick provided vocals from the soundboard on a cover of Stevie Wonders Superstition. Soon after, Jordan moved over to keyboards as Wasserman emerged for a jam segment. Both Wasserman and Waldman then helped the group through W, Thing and Windjammer. At the end of the night, the members of Particle also offered a surprise post-show private set for the house and a small number of leftover fans, with Waldman on trumpet, keyboardist Steve Molitz switching over to bass, Kevin Rudnick on keyboards and Particles Eric Gould holding down the bass. The members of Particle then reclaimed their instruments for another impromptu set, which included a series of vocalists and stretched until 5 AM.
