In 1989, four friends played their first show together at a small pub
in Brooklyn and almost two decades later Hell or High Water is still

going strong. This evening the group will celebrate its 18th
anniversary across the East River at Manhattan’s Cutting Room with an
evening celebration hosted by comedian Jackie ‘The Jokeman’ Martling.
Since first forming in the late 1980s, Hell or High Water has
expanded from a quartet to a septet with a stack of original songs
and for the past few years has included Zenbu Media President Steve
Bernstein on mandolin. Tonight the group plans to introduce a number
of new originals into its repertoire with the help of special guest
Jason Crosby (of Robert Randolph & the Family band fame). The group
will film and record the event for posterity.
