Although he still performs on occasion with the Spin Doctors, Chris Barron now spends most of his time his young daughter and his new band The Time Bandits. On February 7, the Spin Doctors singer will combine his two loves, playing a benefit concert to raise money for the music program at his daughters school, New Yorks The Richard Rodgers School (PS 166). All proceeds from Barrons performance at PS 166 will help the school purchase guitars for the students.

The Richard Rodgers school, which takes its name from Richard Rodgers of Rodgers and Hammerstein, has a long-standing tradition of excellence in the performing arts. Rodgers himself attended the school from 1912-1916 and rumor has it that it was the only school he ever graduated from. Unfortunately this year the school found itself on the short-end of arts-oriented educational funding.
Special $10 tickets will made available for students 14 and under. Barron and the Time Bandits are currently touring behind their new record, Pancho and the Kid. The group will perform at Teaneck, NJs Mexicali Blues Cafhis Friday.
