As we first reported yesterday, voting has now begun for the 2008 Jammy Awards. The Jammys will take place at New Yorks Theater at Madison Square Garden on May 7, with Phish slated to take home the evenings Lifetime Achievement Award. The show’s co-hosts are also nominated: Grace Potter is up for an award in the Song of The Year category (‘Ah Mary’), while Warren Haynes is nominated along with his band Gov’t Mule in the Live Performance of the Year category. Haynes and Potter also received a collective nomination for Tour of the Year (Gov’t Mule and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals on the Mighty High Tour). Similarly, the Disco Biscuits and Umphrey’s McGee are co-nominated for Tour of the Year (their summer co-bill, D.U.M.B.), while the Biscuits are up for DVD of the Year and Umphrey’s McGee is nominated for Live Album of the Year. North Mississippi Allstars/Black Crowes guitarist Luther Dickinson received two nods in the Live Performance of the Year category and an additional nomination for DVD of the Year.
