Due to a scheduling change on his current tour with Santana, Derek Trucks has bowed out of his appearance at the Chicago edition of the Green Apple Festival. In his place, the new trio featuring Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann, Allman Brothers Band bassist Oteil Burbridge and Max Creek guitarist Scott Murawski will perform. The trio first performed together in Northampton, MA last month, on the heels of Kreutzmanns recent tropical gigs with Murawski, Steve Kimock and Mike Gordon. Green Apple Chicago will be held at the Lincoln Park Zoo on April 20, also featuring performances by the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Meshell Ndegeocello, Bassnectar, the Chicago Afrobeat Project, Miss Lori Holton Nash (PBS Kids) and The Gwalla Gwallas. Kyle Orton of the Chicago Bears will MC the event. For a full list of Green Apple events please click here .
