Govt Mule is currently routing towards New Orleans, where the quartet will celebrate the 5th anniversary of its Deepest End sessions at the Contemporary Arts Center this Friday and Saturday. Grace Potter and the Nocturnals are along with the ride and will support the Mule at both its New Orleans gigs. On Tuesday night, the two groups also shared the stage at Tulsa, OKs Cain’s Ballroom. At the end of Govt Mules first set, Potter emerged for a cover of Fleetwood Macs Gold Dust Woman and, at the end of the night, Nocturnals guitarist Scott Tournet and local drummer John Hoff both sat in on a cover of Oklahoma hero J.J. Cales After Midnight.

Potter will open for Govt Mule at Houston, TXs The Meridian this evening. She will also co-host the Jammys with Warren Haynes at the Theatre at MSG next Wednesday. For more on Haynes, please see our recent site interview.
