Saxophonist Sam Kininger celebrated his birthday last night during a Lettuce show at New Yorks Bowery Ballroom. The gig was the final night of a brief Northeast tour in support of the groups new studio album, Rage!. As a birthday treat, Kiningers longtime associate Nigel Hall took the stage with Lettuce to sing lead on a cover of Curtis Mayfields Move on Up, among others. The members of Lettuce will focus on a myriad of side-projects, before regrouping for shows with Trombone Shorty in

Los Angeles (7/17) and San Francisco (7/18-19). Meanwhile, the Sam Kininger Bands next shows will take place at the Sterling Stage Folk Fest on May 24.
