The next release from the Umphreys McGee camp focuses on the groups experimental side. Jimmy Stewart 2007 will cull improvisational highlights from the groups various 2007 tours. The collection was first made available at Bonnaroo and is now available digitally through UMLive.net, as well as through iTunes. The albums title refers to the groups onstage improvisations, which are referred to as Jimmy Stewart segments. According to lore, the group chose the title since one of its first improvisational practice sessions took place before a wedding gig in the Jimmy Stewart Ballroom. Umphreys McGee will appear next at Sioux City, IAs Saturday In the Park on July 5 with Phil Lesh.
