Widespread Panic first performed at Morrison, COs Red Rocks Amphitheatre on September 14, 1991 on a bill that also included Acoustic Junction and Blues Traveler. Since then Widespread has played Red Rocks on 35 occasions and, beginning tonight, the group is slated to play the venue an additional three times. Even more impressive, at the end of Widespread Panic’s sold-out run this weekend the band will have played 32 sold out shows at Red Rocks—-more than any other act in the venue’s history. Red Rocks officials will honor the band with a special award presentation, and a mayoral proclamation calling today, Friday, June 27 ‘Widespread Panic Day’ in the City and County of Denver.
