Last night, Jounce opened fellow North Jersey natives the Benevento-Russo Duo at Ridgewood NJ’s Blend. Near the end of the groups set, Benevento emerged to play keyboards on the Jounce original Yenny,’ as well as a set-closing cover of the Smashing Pumpkins’ ‘Cherub Rock.’ Jounce will spend most of July and August in the studio working on a new studio album. The trio will then hit the road this fall for an appearance at the Wormtown Music Festival and a handful of dates with The Breakfast. Meanwhile, Benevento will perform with The Join at Masontown, WVs All Good Festival this evening.

In other Benevento news, the keyboardist has added a trio gig at Brooklyn, NYs Galapagos Art Space on July 26. For this performance, the Marco Benevento Trio will consist of Slip bassist Marc Friedman and Lettuce drummer Adam Deitch.
