Since 2002, Gov’t Mule has celebrated New Year’s Eve in New York City at the Beacon Theatre. However, the venue currently is undergoing renovations, which has led the group to find an alternative site. As it turns out, the Mule will appear at two distinct venues during its four show NYE run. On December 27 and 28 the band will perform at the Angel Orensanz, a former temple in New York’s Lower East Side. Then on December 30 and 31 the band will appear at the Hammerstein Ballroom, offering up three sets, as per custom, on New Year’s Eve.

The band has explained its decision, in noting, ‘Much consideration was taken into choosing these venues. The band has always wanted to play Angel Orensanz, a former temple which is a visually and acoustically superb room, and jumped at doing so when the opportunity presented itself. The Hammerstein Ballroom, with its extremely accessible location as well as its mixture of seated balconies (both reserved and general admission) as well as its expansive open floor, will appeal to all of our fans needs. With its location in midtown Manhattan, and its close proximity to public transportation to New Jersey, as well as the Long Island Railroad and Metro North, it is one of the more convenient venues in New York City to reach.’
On sale dates as well as VIP and travel packages will be announced next week.
