As previously reported, this Halloween Lotus paid tribute to the many rock stars who passed away at the age of 27. The hometown performance took place at Philadelphias TLA and opened with Hammerstrike, the title track of the livetronica groups new studio album. From there the group looked backwards, nodding to several members of The 27 Club: Jimi Hendrix (Purple Haze), the Rolling Stones Brian Jones (Sympathy for the Devil), Jim Morrison (a portion of Light by Fire leading out of Juggernaut) and Kurt Cobain (In Bloom).

In addition, Lotus paid tribute to Pigpen, who died at the age of 27, by offering both Help On The Way and Slipknot, though sadly the Grateful Dead keyboardist passed away before his bandmates introduced the lauded segue in the mid-1970s. Lotus will appear next at Charlotte, NCs The Neighborhood Theatre this Wednesday.
