The Sway Machinery has set January 27 as the release date for its forthcoming full-length album, Hidden Melodies Revealed. The supergroup is led by guitarist Jeremiah Lockwood (Balkan Beat Box) and features drummer Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Stuart Bogie (Antibalas), bass saxophonist Colin Stetson (Arcade Fire, Tom Waits) and Jordan McLean (Antibalas). Recorded in Arcade Fire’s private studio, Le Petite lise in Montreal, Hidden Melodies Revealed is said to be a unique celebration of the ritualistic and archaic. The studio, a former church and Masonic temple with a unique sonic quality, became an integral component of the music making. Though not only the members of The Sway Machinery are Jewish, the album is mostly sung in Hebrew, though certain selections are Aramaic (the Afro-Asiatic language of divine worship). In addition to the abovementioned players, Arcade Fires Sarah Neufeld also plays violin on the album.

The Sway Machinery will appear next at Brooklyn, NYs Southpaw on December 3. The group will also make stops in Cleveland (12/18), Los Angeles (12/20) and San Francisco (12/21).
