Were just a few hours away from Thanksgiving, so it seems appropriate for us to offer some news from the Arlo Guthrie camp. Guthrie, who first found fame though his epic Thanksgiving tale of the ‘Alice’s Restaurant Massacree,’ will return to New Yorks Carnegie Hall this Saturday for his annual Thanksgiving concert with Pete Seeger. Staying true to the weekends spirit of togetherness, the bill will also feature additional members of the Seeger and Guthrie families. Pete Seeger was a close friend of Arlos father Woody Guthrie and appears as himself in the film version of Alice’s Restaurant.

Saturdays concert will be Guthries final 2008 appearance, though the storyteller has already confirmed a handful of 2009 shows. Of particular note is Guthries annual stop at Housatonic, MAs The Church from July 3-5. A good portion of the ‘Alice’s Restaurant Massacree takes place at the mythic location.
