My Morning Jacket has long filled the gaps between its albums by releasing EPs and the members of the band will continue the trend despite having played Madison Square Garden on New Year’s Eve. Earlier this year the group released the iTunes EP Live from Las Vegas – Exclusively at The Palms and on Record Store Day (April 18) the band will issue the new EP Celebracie La Ciudad Natal exclusively through independent retailers. The live EP features material culled from two of the groups recent hometown appearances in Louisville, KY: an in-store appearance at Ear-x-Tacy on June 10 and an outdoor show at Waterfront Park on August 16. The EP will be available in both CD and limited edition double 10’ vinyl.
