As previously reported, Oteil Burbridge will play bass on The Jimmy Herring Bands inaugural tour this spring. Burbridge has a longstanding relationship with Herring dating back to their days in the Aquarium Rescue Unit. But, due to commitments with the Allman Brothers Band (another group Burbridge and Herring have both spent time in), the bassist will not be able to tour with the JHB this summer. As such, Herring has tapped

Matthew Garrison as a summer replacement. Garrison has a long list of credits, including work with John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock and Pat Metheny. The Jimmy Herring Band will kick off its spring tour at Greenville, SCs The Handlebar on April 24.
