Moonalice will live tweet throughout the East Coast this week. The all-star band, which features the likes of G.E. Smith, Barry Sless, Pete Sears, Ann McNamee, Roger McNamee, Jimmy Sanchez and special guest Jack Casady, recently became the first band to post its music to Twitter in real time. Immediately following each song during the groups shows this weekend, Moonalices sound team will take that song’s audio, digitize it, upload it and tweet about its availability before the group finishes playing the very next song. This is the first time that any artist has broadcast a concert in real time on the Twitter platform.

We are amazed by all the new ways people are using Twitter and what Moonalice is doing exemplifies this to the core, Twitter CEO Evan Williams said in a statement. Twittering a live show is a new and profoundly cool way for a band to reach its fan base and beyond and we hope to see more of this as bands see the value of connecting to their audience in new ways.
Moonalice will perform and tweet at New Yorks Sullivan Hall this evening. The group will then host real-time Twitter concerts at Teaneck, NJs Mexicali Live on Friday and Fall River, MAs Narrows Center for the Arts on Saturday.
