Medeski, Martin & Wood have postponed their September 11 show with the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra at Philadelphias The Mann Music Center. As previously reported, John Medeski recently fell ill, forcing the group to cancel its entire European tour. The rest of the bands fall dates will proceed as scheduled. Medeski is said to be in good health.

According to a note from the band, the band recently suffered a series of setbacks which left them unable to adequately prepare for their concert with the orchestra. Keyboardist John Medeski fell unexpectedly ill in early July, leading to the cancellation of the band’s European tour, and delaying rehearsals, writing sessions, and arranging sessions for the concert. Medeski was scheduled to do the lion’s share of the orchestral arrangements.
The concert has been rescheduled for the Fall of 2010. The new date will allow Medeski Martin & Wood time to prepare a fresh body of work with well rendered arrangements over the coming year.
