ALO drummer Dave Brogan kicked off a series of shows with Hot Buttered Rum late last week. Brogan sat behind the kit with the group and also sang lead vocals on a few songs. Both Friday night at Des Moines, IA’s Vaudeville Mews and Saturday at Iowa City, IA’s Yacht Club, Brogan sang lead on ALO’s “Isla Vista Song” and “Lady Loop.” The title track off Hot Buttered Rum’s Limbs Akimbo was actually written by ALO keyboardist Zach Gill. Brogan and Hot Buttered Rum will likely share the stage again at Groveland, CA’s Las Tortugas festival this weekend.
