Last night 30db opened their May tour in Minneapolis at the Cabooze. While the group began as a collaboration between Umphrey’s McGee’s Brendan Bayliss and Yonder Mountain String Band’s Jeff Austin, the full band also includes the North Mississippi Allstars’ Cody Dickinson, Nick Forster (Hot Rize) and Eric Thorin. All five musicians were featured during the 100 minute set, which drew on the material from the group’s forthcoming One Man Show disc including takes on the title track, “Always Up,” “Susanah,” “Liar” and “Grave.” Tonight it is on to Madison, Wisconsin for a gig at the Barrymore Theater. One Man Show will be released on Tuesday but will be available at the Barrymore and at 30db’s Lincoln Hall gig on Saturday.
