Los Lobos last delivered a studio disc of original material in 2006, with The Town and the City. On August 3, Shout! Factory will release the group’s follow up, Tin Can Trust. While the majority of the songs are David Hidalgo-Louie Pérez compositions, the band does offer up a cover of the Grateful Dead’s “West L.A. Fadeaway” (Los Lobos gained new fans after covering “Bertha” on 1991’s Deadicated and also opened some shows for the Dead). In addition, Susan Tedeschi guests on Tin Can Trust, contributing vocals to the opening track, “I’ll Burn It Down.”

Los Lobos is currently in Europe, with a performance tonight in Budapest, Hungary at Petofi Hall.
