While My Morning Jacket will celebrate Halloween proper in New Orleans on Sunday night as part of the Voodoo Experience, the group will perform a hometown gig on Friday. The band will appear in Louisville at the KFC Yum! Center on October 29th. The band also notes that before the show, from 3PM until 8PM, the area underneath the south end 2nd street bridge at the intersection of Washington Street will be transformed into the Louisville Local Village. The group’s Patrick Hallahan explains, “We always want our hometown shows to be more of a celebration of Louisville than anything else. Some of Louisville’s greatest resources are its independent businesses and non-profit organizations. Please come out and join these groups at the local village to celebrate all things Louisville.” In addition, My Morning Jacket has posted an invitation to all attendees: “hello all! we here at mmj hq just wanted to extend an invite to everyone to get dressed to impress in your Halloween finest this Friday and also come early to visit the local village from 3 until showtime, under the south end of the 2nd street bridge. we are so excited for the show and can’t wait to see you there!!!”
