Back on April 29 of this year, more than 60 musicians performed at the Howlin’ Wolf in New Orleans to raise money for the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic (NOMC) and Assistance Foundation (NOMAF). Widespread Panic keyboardist JoJo Hermann spearheaded the event, which was dubbed Down on the Bayou II. The players included Hermann’s bandmates as well as Big Chief Bo Dollis, George Porter Jr., Bill Kreutzmann, Ivan Neville, members of The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Gov’t Mule, Big Sam, Luther Dickinson, Anders Osborne, Jon Cleary and many others. Sixteen songs from that night are available via the Down on the Bayou Live release which is available at Livedownloads.com. All of the proceeds from the release will go to the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic, the medical home for musicians.
