Relix.com has just debuted an exclusive clip from the film Voodoo Child, which is part of the stellar Jimi Hendrix anthology West Coast Seattle Boy. The film features Hendrix’s life story told in his own words, brought to life by legendary funk bassist Bootsy Collins. Rare and never before seen footage and photos as well as the Hendrix family archive of the late guitarist’s personal drawings, postcards home to his father, song drafts, sketches and lyrics are all featured in the 90 minute film. This particular clip shows Hendrix’s emergence as, and resistance to becoming, a rock and roll star. In it he talks about taking a year off from performing to concentrate only on music.

In addition, Brian Robbins’ interview with Janie Hendrix has just posted to Jambands.com.
